How to Use
To incorporate these metallic spot colours into your design talk with your client account manager and they will supply the required swatch libraries for use with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
Standard Metallic Spot Colours
Basic silver and gold metallic ink
Gold ink can be used as a standard spot colour to enhance your designs. Unlike the FX ranges above this spot colour isn’t tinted, it just uses the base gold metallic ink to add shimmering gold to your print.
How do I set up a spot colour
Create a swatch called “Gold” (Note: name is case sensitive)
Define the Colour Type as “Spot”
Make spot colour 100% Yellow.
Other important spot colour info
Place all Gold spot colour objects on a separate layer from any other objects.
When exporting, make sure you use the PDFX/4 standard, include 3mm bleed, and make sure the create acrobat layers check box is ticked. For more details for exporting, visit our file prep page.
